Every batch tested.
Every result verified.
At AetherPeak, quality assurance is not a final checkpoint — it is built into every stage of our supply chain, from initial supplier evaluation through to the moment your order is dispatched. We hold ourselves to the same standard a research institution would demand.
Our quality pipeline, step by step
Every product that appears on our site has passed through all six stages below. There are no shortcuts, no single-point approvals, and no listings without a verified COA.
Manufacturer evaluation & vetting
Before we source a single vial, the manufacturer undergoes a rigorous evaluation process covering their facility certifications, quality management systems, documented production processes, and historic batch records. We only work with manufacturers who can provide GMP-equivalent documentation and submit to our own review criteria.
Pre-purchase sample analysis
Before committing to any batch purchase, we request a sample which is submitted to our independent testing laboratory for full purity, identity, and contamination analysis. Only samples that pass all criteria proceed to a bulk order. This stage alone has resulted in the rejection of over 30% of initially evaluated suppliers.
Full batch independent laboratory analysis
Every batch we purchase — not just samples — is submitted in full to an accredited third-party laboratory before a single unit is stored or listed. The lab is entirely independent from AetherPeak and our suppliers. Results are compared against sample data, and any significant deviation triggers immediate hold and investigation.
Certificate of analysis issued & filed
Upon passing all analysis parameters, our laboratory partner issues a formal certificate of analysis referencing the specific batch number, test date, test methods used, individual test results, and a pass/fail conclusion. This COA is stored in our internal archive, available on request, and attached to any bulk or institutional order automatically.
Batch listed — COA published
Only upon COA issuance is a product batch listed and made available for purchase. The listing includes the batch number, verified purity percentage, and a link to the corresponding COA. Customers can verify the batch number on their received vial matches the listed documentation at any time.
Post-listing monitoring & feedback review
Quality assurance doesn't end at listing. We monitor customer feedback, track any product quality concerns, and conduct periodic re-testing of stored inventory at defined intervals. Any batch that generates quality-related concerns is immediately placed on hold pending investigation, regardless of COA status.
Testing techniques we use
Our third-party laboratory applies a combination of analytical techniques to each batch. No single test is considered sufficient — multiple methods are used to confirm purity, identity, and safety simultaneously.
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
HPLCThe primary purity analysis method. HPLC separates, identifies, and quantifies each component in the sample. It gives us the definitive purity percentage for each batch and identifies any impurities present above the detection threshold.
Mass Spectrometry
MS / HPLC-MSConfirms the molecular identity of the peptide by measuring its exact molecular mass. When combined with HPLC (HPLC-MS), it provides both purity and identity confirmation in a single analysis — ruling out any structural isomers or incorrect sequences.
Microbial & Endotoxin Testing
USP <61> / LALScreens for bacterial, fungal, and endotoxin contamination that could compromise research integrity or indicate poor manufacturing conditions. The Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) test detects bacterial endotoxins with extreme sensitivity.
Residual Solvent Analysis
GC / ICH Q3CDetects and quantifies any organic solvents remaining from the synthesis or purification process. Results are evaluated against ICH Q3C permitted daily exposure limits to confirm safe residual solvent levels for laboratory handling.
Heavy Metal Screening
ICP-MSInductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry screens for heavy metal contamination — specifically lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium — which can be introduced during synthesis via reagents or equipment. Results must fall below ICH Q3D elemental impurity limits.
Moisture & Lyophilisation Quality
KF / LODKarl Fischer titration and Loss on Drying tests confirm that lyophilised peptides have been correctly freeze-dried to stable, low-moisture levels. Excess moisture compromises storage stability and reconstitution reliability — both critical for research accuracy.
Our purity standards
vs industry minimums
The peptide research supply industry has no universal mandatory purity standard. Most suppliers advertise "≥ 95% purity" as their threshold. We hold ourselves to a significantly higher bar — and test independently to prove it.
What our COA covers — and how to verify yours
Every AetherPeak COA is issued by an accredited independent laboratory — not by us or our suppliers. Here's exactly what each certificate documents and how you can cross-reference it against your order.
What every COA documents
Each certificate of analysis issued for our products includes all of the following fields, without exception:
- Product name, peptide sequence, and molecular formula
- Unique batch number matching the vial label
- Testing laboratory name and accreditation reference
- Date of analysis and analyst signature
- HPLC purity percentage with chromatogram
- Mass spectrometry result with observed vs expected mass
- Microbial, heavy metal, and solvent screening results
- Overall pass/fail conclusion with laboratory stamp
How to verify your batch
When your order arrives, you can independently verify the product against our COA archive in three steps:
- Locate the batch number printed on your vial label
- Visit our lab results page and search for your batch number
- Download and review the PDF COA — confirm the batch number, test date, and purity results match your product
- If anything doesn't match, contact us immediately at [email protected]
From manufacture to your lab
Every vial follows the same documented journey from the manufacturer to our facility and ultimately to your door. Here's how a batch progresses through our system.
What we require from every manufacturer we work with
Our supplier relationships are built on documented standards, not reputation. Every manufacturer we work with must meet all of the criteria on the right before we place a single order — and must continue to meet them with every subsequent batch.
We audit our active suppliers annually, reviewing facility certifications, production process documentation, and batch record consistency. Suppliers who fail to maintain our standards are removed from our approved list immediately — regardless of prior track record.
What happens when a batch fails
Since 2021, we have rejected 23 batches that failed to meet our listing criteria. These products were never listed, never sold, and were returned to suppliers or destroyed under documented protocols. Batch rejection is never negotiated — a fail is a fail.
The following conditions result in automatic batch rejection and immediate supplier review. Repeated failures result in supplier removal from our approved list.
